Who is Nitefallz?

I am Nitefallz. Simply put it is my internet persona, my alias, my double-life, my superhero name, (no spandex). You get the idea.

The origins of the name Nitefallz may not be what you think. There is a fantasy genre book that was written, called the Legend of Nightfall. That’s not from where I got the name. I made it up entirely but it this was not its first incarnation. The whole misspellings with the z in it were as a result of other variations being taken. Taken? Taken where? I was playing a role-playing game, kind of like Dungeons and Dragons online.

I was new to the whole thing and was looking for some kind of darkish-strike-fear-into-your-soul type name. I didn’t think I’d play the game for long so I didn’t take the name seriously. The first incarnation was something like Darknights or Darkknightz, some lame thing. It evolved to Nightfall/Nightfalls. Those were taken so I opted for Nitefallz. I played for a bit then lost my account. A year or so later I was able to get back online and amazingly restore my character.

I played this game for 5 years or longer. A good part of those 5+ years I played everyday. It was great. Lot’s of social interaction with many people all over the country in a medieval fantasy type game. Highly addictive. No graphics. Right around the same time I heard about AIM and wanted to talk to my in game friends online. So I chose the most obvious screen name. Nitefallzz. Since then I’ve met many people over the years online and off and that name has become my username on many forums, my name in games, my e-mail address, etc. Finally, my own website.

Thanks to google, you can search for nitefallz and get a decent amount of hits. There are logs of my times in Gemstone (the RPG I played), portraits of my character, profiles, postings, and other things from other websites. I’ve made a small mark in internet history!

And that my friends, is how I became to be known as Nitefallz.
